I'm Not Gone

Despite rumours to the contrary, I’m not dead. I haven’t been knitting much in 2019 (still have to get back to that sweater I started at the end of last year), and the knitting I did do ended up being for Christmas gifts, so I’m holding off on posting those. I also started and ripped out a couple of socks because I was getting some laddering between needles; when this has happened in the past, I had to drop a needle size and switch to a 72 stitch sock, so those yarns are currently in detention until I get the motivation to knit with them.

I did finish the Christmas socks I started last year (and had them done in time for the holidays, but forgot to post them here).

I did just finish one pair of socks though, just a vanilla pair in Kroy, but it was enough to get my motivation back.

What's Next?

What is next for the 24 Sock Project, now that all 24 socks are done? Well, I already have the leg of another sock knit; Wool Trends got some Rellana Flotte Socke Christmas in, so I decided to knit up a pair of Christmas socks.

Also, in a first for me, I’ve cast on a sweater. When I recieved the Knit Picks flyer with the new Dapper book, I ordered it, along with enough yarn for the Rockland Sweater. This will be my first real “garment” knit; I’ve done hats, mittens, gloves, slippers, and obviously socks, but this will be my first really big knit.

Project Complete

Project success! I have completed my twelfth pair of socks this year. This pair was knit from the leftover yarn from the previous pairs. There were a lot of ends to weave, but I think it’s a nice end to the project. I’m going to keep the website and Instagram account live to document future projects.

Blue Tit

This is my eleventh completed pair. The end of the project is in sight, so these went very fast–the fastest I’ve ever knit a pair.

Moss Rib Socks

This is my tenth completed pair. This yarn is a little finer than what I usually use, so I had to go up to 72 stitches and go down to 2.25mm needles.
